Effie Brown - Producer, Queen Neferatari Productions

Lanré Idewu is a Producer and Chief Operating Officer of Queen Nefertari Productions, a feature film and television Production Company backed by a $30 million film fund, represented by The Gersh Agency in Los Angeles. Mr. Idewu helped form Queen Nefertari Productions in 2009 with private investor and philanthropist Cynthia Stafford. Mr. Idewu's contribution to the company is a unique blend of creativity and business acumen attained through his experience as an actor, producer and entrepreneur. He was recently named a future 'media maven' in Variety Magazine's December 2010 Deal Makers Impact Report.

At Queen Nefertari Productions, Mr. Idewu is charged with overseeing day to day operations of the company as well as helping select investors for the growing fund and managing Queen Nefertari Production's film, television and theater projects. Mr. Idewu focuses on strategic partnerships and the overall growth of Queen Nefertari Productions, while providing general support to the Chief Executive Officer Cynthia Stafford. Current projects include "Inkotanyi" the action-packed story about the heroes of the Rwandan genocide, "Seedless a suspense thriller that meets at the intersection of ambition and morality and "Memoirs" a psychological thriller revolving around the relationship of a professional Hitman and his shrink. Recently released projects include Judd Hirsch, Vincent Piazza and Meat Loaf Aday starring coming-of age-tale "Polish Bar;" urban horror comedy "Holla II" and "The Brass Teapot" a mystical romantic comedy starring BAFTA Award winning "Sin City" and "Malefant's" actress Juno Temple, "Arrested Development's" Alia Shawkat, "Violet & Daisy's" Alexis Bledel and "Empire State" and Heat's" Michael Angarano.

Prior to joining Queen Nefertari Productions, Mr. Idewu produced numerous short and feature length films including Showtime's Hit Me, BET's Best Kept Secret and Librium Pictures' Big Bag of $. Mr. Idewu has worked on such television shows as NBC's Emmy® award-winning Starting Over, E! Entertainment's 101 Incredible Celebrity Slimdowns, CBS' Ghost Whisperer: The Other Side, CW's Everybody Hates Chris, FOX's Arrested Development, ABC's Melissa & Joey, Better With You and reality pilots The Plumbers and Reality Checks.

Mr. Idewu's early entertainment experience included project work for the Pan African Film Festival as well as submissions coverage for the Sundance Film Festival. Before becoming a producer, Mr. Idewu founded a full-service fitness and nutrition company, Fit4LA.com, which he still owns and is known for its multidisciplinary approach to exercise and its impressive roster of celebrity clientele. Mr. Idewu still visits inner-city schools regularly, helping to educate the youth about the importance of diet and exercise.

Before relocating from the Midwest, Mr. Idewu graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Theater Arts. Mr. Idewu attended medical school at the University of Chicago, but found himself attracted to the ability to affect a far greater change through film and fitness and is dedicated to positive programming in both fields.

In addition to entertainment, Mr. Idewu is also engaged in various philanthropic efforts including Kids in the Spotlight, a charity that teaches foster children the process of filmmaking from beginning to end; The Amobi Okoye Foundation, a mission that takes NFL players to Africa to donate school and medical supplies; God's Love We Deliver, an organization that delivers food to AIDS patients who are too sick to leave the house, LA's Best, an after school education, enrichment and recreation program and LA Waterkeeper, an environmental protection and restoration organization.

Mr Idewu serves on the boards of Hitch Radio, an international internet radio and social media web platform; The Geffen Playhouse; SHE (Simply Her Entertainment; NFL Player Association's Pro Hollywood; ABFF (American Black Film Festival) and The Cynthia P. Stafford Foundation. He is currently undertaking a pet project to bring affordable housing, healthcare and green technology to underprivileged communities in Africa.
